I’m Andreas Carlsson, a designer and filmmaker based in Linköping, Sweden. For more than 20 years I have designed brands, websites and digital services with Swedish and international teams. Today I also direct, shoot and edit film, above and below the surface.

Never get in the way of the story

One thing I’ve learned from my years as a designer and typographer is this: never get in the way of the story you are telling. As a filmmaker I live and die by that insight.

It holds for a brand, a website and a film alike. I stay true to the story. I design and colour grade for the mood it conveys. I score the soundtrack to support the pace. I edit to let the story live and breathe. Gratuitous effects and showbraggery are not part of what I do.

Design with the human in mind

I lead, collaborate and design with the human in mind: both the end user and the team member. Most of my projects combine disciplines, so the same person who sketches the brand also films the launch, which keeps the whole thing one voice.
