Very good initiative Andreas! I'm using alot of sIFR and Signwriter (for Drupal) in our projects, and before that i always used images, for at least the interface, to keep some track on the corporate identity of the client. But i agree that there is a long way to go, and improvement of typography is one of the next steps for the web. By the way, i am also a designer and in the web business since 1996 :)
Cheers!
